For the past five days, 19 of our girls attended the Penn State University Womens Soccer Camp. We were coached all week by Coach Pete Pososki (University of Penn). We placed second in our division and third overall. There were 180 players at this camp and two of our players were selected as All-Star players. They played a game with the PSU Players in front of the entire camp. Coach Erica Walsh, the head Coach of Penn State, privately spoke to the team, an opportunity that was not given to the rest of the camp and something the girls walked away feeling very proud of.

It was an incredible experience for the players and Coach Archer. A special thanks to all who attended!

There will be no open field anymore this summer beginning tonight 7/28/10 due to a lack of attendance. If there are players who still wish to play, contact me directly via email. Unfortunately, an average of 4 girls are present out of 55 girls. More activities will be planned as the season gets closer. If you know of any players who would like to play this spring, please have them contact me. Thanks.

For any players going to Penn State Camp July 23-27:

In addition to the information below, you can check the website for all other information:

PSU CAMP WEBSITE

We will be taking a charter bus to camp.  The bus will leave at 8:30am on the 23rd.  Players should plan to be at the high school by 8am.  Please limit the number of bags to one luggage bag and one carry on (back pack).  Check in is at 11am in State College.  We will depart from PSU on the 27th at 11am.  We should be back to Etown by 1:30pm.

There is no air conditioning in the dorms.  You may want to bring a small fan with you.  Keep in mind that luggage will be packed in the bus first and, if there is room, the fans will be be packed last.  The camp should be contacting you with further details prior to leaving.

Players may want to bring some spending cash.  We will be going downtown to eat breakfast one of the days, as well as the creamery.  There are also a number of stores that sell PSU items that the girls may be interested in purchasing.

The girls will have three sessions a day on the field.  If they have all of the following, they should bring cleats, turfs, sneakers, and sandals.  They may also want to bring extra sets of shirts and shorts to change into mid day.  They will need soccer socks and shin guards.  These items are required to be worn at all times.  Players are free to wear whatever colors they would like, but I would like them to bring plenty of etown soccer gear for when we play games in the evening.  Players are asked to bring five plain white t-shirts to camp by PSU.  These shirts will be used each morning.

As stated before, players are not to have their cell phones or any other communication devises with them at camp.  They should be left at home or can be given to Coach Archer before leaving.  If there is a need to call home, Coach Archer will have his cell phone with him at all times.  This trip is meant for you to focus on the team and soccer.  There is no need to text and call your friends at home while we are at camp.  Any player found not adhering to this request will be sent home.  Parents will need to come and pick up their player.

Congratulations Coach Archer

Due to a lack of interest there will not be a U19 Rheems team this fall.  If you would like to play locally this fall contact Rheems AA directly or contact Donegal Soccer Association.  Only 3 players contacted me with interest in this team.
